Liability Options

​​​It might sound like a drag but when you rent a campervan, it's important to know you're protected should the unthinkable happen. All Mighty campervans are insured for damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party.

Although all Mighty Campervan rentals have insurance cover, there are different levels of Accident Liability and Security Deposit that can be selected to reduce the stress when on the road.

These sometimes vary depending on the dates you travel so choose your travel period below to see how you can reduce your Security Deposit and Accident Liability

There are exclusions to cover. Please refer to our rental agreement for more information.

If you are travelling from 1 April 2023:

Inclusive Pack - $47 per day (max $2,350) for Highball, Double Down / $60 per day (max $3,000) for Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up, Big Six.

Liability Reduction Option - $35 per day (max $1,750) for Highball, Double Down / $48 per day (max $2,400) for Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up, Big Six. Express Return Pack is no longer available.

For travel from 1st April 2023: the Inclusive Pack will increase by an extra $47 per day for the Highball & Double Down or $60 per day for the Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up & Big Six. The Liability Reduction Option will increase by an extra $35 per day for the Highball & Double Down or $48 per day for the Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up & Big Six. The Express Return Pack is no longer available for all vehicles.

Inclusive Pack

The Inclusive Pack is available for an extra $42 per day for the Highball & Double Down or $52 per day for the Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up & Big Six and covers costs associated with damage from a single vehicle roll-over. A single vehicle rollover is not covered unless you have purchased the Inclusive Pack. The Inclusive Pack also includes Liability Reduction Option, Linen Exchange, Picnic table + chairs, Extra driver fees plus a Child/Booster seat and portable fan heater, on request.

From 1st April 2023, the Inclusive Pack will increase by an extra $47 per day for the Highball & Double Down or $60 per day for the Deuce, Deuce Plus, Double Up & Big Six.

Terms Explained

What is Liability?
Accident liability is the maximum dollar amount (cost) per accident the hirer is responsible for should there be an accident. This includes damage to the rental vehicle and any third party property. The Accident Liability that will apply can be reduced by selecting the Liability Reduction Option above.​

What is the Debited Deposit?
The Liability Deposit is required as a deposit upon the collection of your vehicle. The Liability Deposit will be a full debit from the credit card supplied (all funds processed against your card). The dollar amount is determined by the Liability Reduction option selected as mentioned above.

Is the Debited Deposit refundable?
The Liability Deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged. The credit card surcharge is also refunded provided the credit card used is Visa or MasterCard (non-refundable for American Express).

Daily Rate Maximum Charge
The maximum charge for any Liability Reduction Option will be AU$1,600 for the Highball and Double Down and AU$2,100 for all other campervans.​​

From 1st April 2023, the maximum charge for this will be AU$1,750 for the Highball and Double Down and AU$2,400 for all other campervans.

Linen Exchange is a service included in the Inclusive Pack after 7 hire days (on request). This allows you to stop into the closest branch during your hire and swap your linen (pillow, pillowcase, duvet (doona), sheets and towels) over for a fresh, clean set.  Where possible it would be great if you could notify the branch ahead of time as this will ensure the items are available and ready for you when you arrive.

Credit Cards

The Liability Deposit (plus any other credit card transactions) is subject to a 1.6% credit card surcharge for Visa and Mastercard and 2.8% for American Express in addition to the liability amount. This surcharge is refunded when the Liability Deposit is refunded for Visa and MasterCard holders.  For American Express the surcharge is not refunded when the Liability Deposit is refunded. Only the Customer's credit card is acceptable to use for the purpose of the Liability Deposit.
Don't forget to check that your credit card has the funds available and that the amount does not exceed your daily withdrawal allowance.
