Frequently Asked Questions

Accident liability is the maximum dollar amount (cost) which the hirer is responsible to pay per accident. This includes damage to the rental vehicle and any third party property. The accident liability which applies depends upon the option selected by the hirer. Standard accident liability is included in the daily vehicle hire rate. For a reduced accident liability, the hirer may choose to purchase the High Road or the Value Pack. It is important to note that irrespective of the option selected, that liability is not limited in some cases which are excluded (noted in the rental agreement) or if the terms of the rental agreement are breached by the hirer and this causes or contributes to any damage.

If the High Road is not taken, the Liability Deposit is required upon the collection of your vehicle. Guests must provide a valid credit or debit card to pay the Liability Deposit and the amount will be debited to the guest's credit or debit card on the day of vehicle collection. The credit or debit card holder must be present and able to sign for the Liability Deposit upon vehicle collection.

The Liability Deposit is subject to a 1.9% debit card or 2.8% credit card administration fee in addition to the Liability Deposit amount when the card used is either a Visa or MasterCard, or 2.6% for American Express.

Please note that a foreign currency fee may be charged by some banks (please check with your provider) at the time the debited bond is paid. This fee will not be refunded.

The Liability Deposit is fully refundable, including the credit card surcharge, if the card used to provide the Liability Deposit is a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, provided the Vehicle is returned without Damage. We recommend that you use a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card for the Liability Deposit, as the credit card surcharge that applies when using American Express is not refundable. The Liability Deposit is refundable provided the Vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, in a clean condition and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle.

A foreign currency fee may be charged by some banks (please check with your provider) at the time the debited bond is paid. This fee is non refundable.

By purchasing the High Road or the Value Pack (which includes the High Road) the guest can reduce their liability to Nil for 2WD vehicles or $500 per accident for 4WD vehicles. It is important to note that irrespective of the option selected, that liability is not limited in some cases which are excluded (noted in the rental agreement) or if the terms of the rental agreement are breached by the hirer and this causes or contributes to any damage.
